Why join the STORY Program
4-H STORY Program is a free 8 week program available to all children 6-12th Grade. This program is designed to allow children from 4 counties (Wyoming, Allegany, Chautauqua and Orleans) to participate and engage in real world scenarios to develop critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and, team participation skills.
Every 8 week program will focus on a single challenge guide. The challenge guide will outline one of 3 broad topic areas.
-Environmental Science and Alternative Energy
-Engineering and Technology
-Plant and Animal Science
The team will work together in weekly meetings focused on researching the problem, developing solutions, and working through all of the logistics. Weekly meetings may include fieldtrip, guest speaker, or other related learning tools. At the end of the 8 week period all of the counties will gather together in Wyoming County to present their projects and share their experiences with the other groups. This will also serve as the graduation for the program. There will be at least 5 STORY programs a year.
