LEAF 2019: History and Cultivation of Culinary Herbs

  • Saturday, April 6, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Saturday, April 6th, 2019       10am - 12noon       $10/person

Around the world, plants we think of as "culinary herbs" traditionally had a broader range of uses. Community Herbalist Sarah Sorci will briefly discuss the growing preferences and uses of common herbs like thyme, lavender, rosemary, lemon balm, sage and more. She will share recipes and samples of herb-infused vinegar, infused honey and more. Holistic herbalist Sarah Sorci is the owner of Sweet Flag Herbs in Hamburg. She offers wellness consultations, educational workshops, therapeutic horticulture sessions and garden consults. Sarah is a 2014 graduate of the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine, and is completing a clinical herbalism program through the Eclectic School of Herbal Medicine. Sarah is a member of the Medicinal Garden Committee at the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens, and board president at Greystone Nature Preserve in Fredonia. She is co-coordinator of the WNY chapter of Herbalists Without Borders, and is thrilled to be part of the movement towards accessible, just, and sustainable health care.
