"Pig Patrol" 4-H Fun Show Set for July 14, 2019

JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (May 13, 2019) – Chautauqua County 4-H Teen Ambassadors in partnership with the 4-H Hog Project, Chautauqua County Fair Association, and local law enforcement agencies announce the second annual Pig Patrol Fun Show July 14, 2019 at the Chautauqua County Fair.

The 4-H Teen Ambassadors are an elite leadership group that focus on personal development, community service, and promoting 4-H in their communities. Last year Jim Quattrone pitched the “Pig Patrol” idea to the group to build a positive connection between youth and law enforcement and to raise funds for the Seeley Foundation.

The TAs recruited 13 officers from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, Town of Ellicott Police, Cattaraugus Sheriff’s Department, and Erie County Sheriff’s Department. An Officer was paired with a 4-H youth in the pig project and learned the importance of 4-H in the youth’s life and how to work with an animal. The Officer then showed that 4-Her’s pig during the Pig Patrol Show held following the open class swine show at the Chautauqua County Fair.

The Teen Ambassadors are now recruiting officers and accepting donations to cover event expenses. Overall proceeds from the event will be donated to the Sheriff’s Benevolent Association and 4-H Teen Ambassadors to fund future projects. As a sponsor, your name will appear on all publicity materials and will be announced during the show. Please submit donations before June 1st to receive full publicity benefits.
