2016 4-H Fashion Revue Recognizes 50 Years

SINCLAIRVILLE, NEW YORK (June 1, 2016) -- The annual 4-H Fashion Revue was held at Park United Methodist Church in Sinclairville, NY on May 6, 2016 with the Canadaway 4-H club hosting the event. This year’s theme was “4-Hers are the Superheroes of the Future. 4-H members were evaluated on sewing as well as their modeling ability

First year sewers who received special awards were Ava Burridge, Elizabeth Burridge, Autumn Cartwright, Charlotte Couchman, Holly Crandall, Gabriel Delahoy, Sierra Delahoy, Perian Frost, Autumn Gregory, Kamryn Harper, Breanna Keefe, Kylie Keefe, Maggie King, Isabella Reuther, Willa Ruckman, Blake Sam, Luisa Smith, Alex Southworth, Natalie Turecek, and Owen Ward.

Outstanding sewing awards were given to Emily Brown, Elizabeth Comstock, Rachel Comstock, Holly Crandall, Kendra Dorman, Mackenzy Graziano, Rachael Harper, Shannon Heath, Kaylee Hodge, Maggie King, Kylee Odell, Deona Sanders, Amelia Sprague, Melinda Waag, Owen Ward, and Joyce Wiltsie.

The Martha Carlson Memorial Award sponsored by Ethan and Nancy Johnson is given to any male sewer who has participated in the sewing project and has shown continual improvement in their sewing skills. This year we had three young men receive this award Matthew Brown, Sam Comstock, and Adam Lesch.

Exceptional sewers are selected to compete at the district level. The Western District Fashion Revue will be hosted by Niagara County on June 4th at the Van Horn Mansion in Burt, NY. The following youth have been chosen to attend that event: Emily Brown, Elizabeth Comstock, Rachel Comstock, Kendra Dorman, Mackenzy Graziano, Rachael Harper, Shannon Heath, Kaylee Hodge, Maggie King, Deona Sander, Amelia Sprague, Lizzie Turner, and Melinda Waag.

Three 4-H’ers were chosen to model their clothing at the State Fair Fashion Revue in Syracuse. Melinda Waag, Kendra Dorman, and Emily Brown.

Commentators for the evening were Jared Dorman and Kendra Dorman, Stockton Panthers; Mackenzy Graziano and Rachel Comstock, Country Critters; Kaylee Hodge, Clymer Eager Beavers; Rachael Harper, Wild Oats; Liz Comstock, Harmony Haystackers; and Amelia Sprague, Lone Member.

Martha Lesch-Wragge was the musician and Bob Warsitz was the sound technician.

Arrangements were made by the County 4-H Family and Consumer Science Committee: Debbie Caruso, Joyce Edwards, Suzanne Harper, Laurie Short, and Opal Sprague. Judges for the evening were Joyce Edwards, Irene Lesch, and Nancy Johnson. Debbie Caruso was the Master of Ceremonies of the Evening.
