May Evening in the Garden

JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (May 8, 2018) Even though Spring came a little later than expected, there is still plenty of time to start a new garden bed or improve your garden from last season. Please join the Master Gardeners on Wednesday, May 16th at 6 pm in the demonstration garden at the Frank Bratt Ag Center, 3542 Turner Rd., in Jamestown for our first Evening in the Garden of the 2018 growing season. One of the topics to be discussed will include a demonstration on how to take a soil sample for testing, whether it be a small raised bed or a large acreage garden. Free on the spot pH soil testing will be done during the evening, just bring a small dry soil sample.

Also a discussion will be led on winter sowing and early season seed starting - does it make a difference??? Container gardening will also be discussed. A new Evening in the Garden feature will be gardening book reviews with the first book review about Aliens in the Garden.

Please join the Master Gardener group rain or shine.
