The public is invited to the 4th Annual Farmer Neighbor Dinner on August 13th at “The Grandview of Ellington” to celebrate agriculture in Chautauqua County. Guests will enjoy a local foods buffet, visit with agricultural producers to learn more about agriculture in our area, and win local products as door prizes.

Public Invited to Farmer-Neighbor Dinner

Jamestown, NY- (August 2, 2019) Local agricultural producers from throughout Chautauqua County would like to share their passion for farming with neighbors and friends at the 4th Annual Farmer Neighbor Dinner. The public is invited to attend this community event on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at “The Grandview of Ellington”, 1116 West Hill Road, Ellington, NY. The program will begin at 5:00 pm with appetizers and an opportunity to visit with vendors; 6:00 pm enjoy the dinner buffet featuring local foods; followed by award presentations to recognize local leadership, excellence and innovation in agriculture. The evening will conclude with guest speaker Catharine Young, who will share her new role as the Director of the Center of Excellence in Food & Agriculture at Cornell AgriTech and opportunities for our food and agriculture industry.

Chautauqua County is rich in agriculture, and this event is an opportunity to celebrate our community’s farmers that work tirelessly to produce safe, wholesome food for all to consume. The Farmer Neighbor Dinner is also an opportunity to help foster communication between the farming community and the general public.

Dinner for the evening will feature locally grown food products, prepared and served by Robert Cross and his staff of 3-C’s Catering of Kennedy, NY.

This event is a collaboration between Farm Credit East, Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District, Chautauqua County Farm Bureau, Western New York Crop Management Association, and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County, with support from many local farms and businesses.
