Annual 4-H Fashion Revue for 2024

JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (May 13, 2024) -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H Program recently hosted the annual 4-H Fashion Revue which was held at Jamestown Community College on May 10, 2024. The event was hosted by the 4-H Clothing and Consumer Science committee. 4-H members were evaluated on their sewing as well as their modeling abilities.

Commentators for the evening were MacKenzy Graziano, Ava Valone, and Gianna Valone from Country Critters 4-H club and Logan Ellsworth with the Harmony Haystacker club.

Cloverbuds receiving special awards were Michael Baker Hollman (first year), Brant Joy, Myra Rose Joy, Raelynn Ellsworth (first year), Harper Feldt (first year) and Cody Nickerson (first year). First year 4-H sewers were Gavin Lebarron, Harrison Lebarron, Tianna Bova, Claudia Almekinder, Fiona Cortright, and Mitchell Tauzel.

The Martha Carlson Memorial Award sponsored by Ethan and Nancy Johnson is given to any male sewer who has participated in the sewing project for over 3 years and has shown continual improvement in their sewing skills. This year Landen and Logan Ellsworth from the Harmony Haystackers club received this award.

Outstanding sewing awards were given to Drake Joy, Myra Rose Joy, Everett Lebarron, Gavin Lebarron, Harrison Lebarron, Tianna Bova, Grace Reid, Ava Valone, Gianna Valone, Serenity VanVleck, Claudia Almekindr, Fiona Cortright, and Mitchell Tauzel.

The Regional District (was Western District) Fashion Revue will be hosted this year by the Wyoming County 4-H in June. The following have been chosen to attend that event Claudia Almekinder, Tianna Bova, Fiona Cortright, Logan Ellsworth, Drake Joy, Grace Reid, Mitchell Tauzel, and Ava Valone.

Chosen for the 2024 NY State Fair was Tianna Bova, Logan Ellsworth, and Ava Valone.

Arrangements were made by the County 4-H Clothing and Textile Committee, Debbie Caruso, Dawn Comstock, Joyce Edwards (chair), Suzanne Harper, Janet Heslink, Nancy Johnson, Opal Sprague, and Linda TeCroney.

Judges for the evening were Joyce Edwards and Linda TeCroney. Starting the Fashion Revue for the evening with an opening introduction was Debbie Caruso who was the MC for the evening .
