Jamestown, NEW YORK (March 17, 2023) -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H Youth Development Program hosted another successful annual 4-H Fashion Revue at Jamestown Community College on May 12, 2023. After a couple of challenging years, it was nice to have more sewers participating this year for Fashion Revue. The event was hosted by the 4-H Clothing and Textile committee. 4-H members were evaluated on their sewing as well as their modeling abilities.
Commentators for the evening were Mackenzy Graziano, Brielle Crowell, Ava Valone from Country Critters 4-H Club and Garrett Lesch with the Canadaway 4-H Club.
Cloverbuds receiving special awards were Brant Joy, Myra Rose Joy, River Long, and Grace Reid. First year sewers were Drake Joy, Malcolm Long, and Delilah Warner.
The Martha Carlson Memorial Award sponsored by Ethan and Nancy Johnson is given to any male sewer who has participated in the sewing project for over 3 years and has shown continual improvement in their sewing skills. This year Garrett Lesch from the Canadaway 4-H Club received this award.
Outstanding sewing awards were given to Drake Joy, Garrett Lesch, Malcolm Long, Brielle Crowell, Mackenzy Graziano, Rowan Liskow, Ava Valone, Serenity VanVleck, Landen Ellsworth, Logan Ellsworth, Delilah Warner, Nataleigh Warner, Aubryn Runge.
The Regional District (was Western District) Fashion Revue will be hosted this year by the Allegany County 4-H in June at the Belmont Library. The following have been chosen to attend the event: Aubryn Runge, Logan Ellsworth, Delilah Warner, Ava Valone, Serenity VanVleck, Nataleigh Warner, Brielle Crowell, Landen Ellsworth, Drake Joy, Mackenzie Graziano, and Garrett Lesch
Arrangements were made by the County 4-H Clothing and Textile Committee, Debbie Caruso, Joyce Edwards (chair), Suzanne Harper, Janet Heslink, Nancy Johnson, Opal Sprague, Linda TeCroney, and the newest member Dawn Comstock.
Judges for the evening were Joyce Edwards and Linda TeCroney. Starting the Fashion Revue for the evening, with an opening introduction, was Debbie Caruso who was the MC for the evening.
