Home Repair and Energy Fair to be Held In Chautauqua County

JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (April 5, 2024)-- Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) and the Village of Sherman will be hosting the Home Repair & Energy Fair Event on Thursday, April 18th at the Stanley Hose Company Fire Hall, 122 Park St, Sherman, NY 14781 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Is your home in need of energy repairs? Is your home energy efficient? Have high heating bill? Join representatives from Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation and Improvement Corp. (CHRIC), Cornell Cooperative Extension, United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Development, Sanfilippo Solutions Contractors, Chautauqua Opportunities and FeedMore WNY, at the Home Repair and Energy Fair in Sherman on Thursday, April 18th.

This event will provide the participants the opportunity to learn more about their energy options, savings, and efficiencies. The CCE Home Repair and Energy Fair is open homeowners, renters, landlords, senior citizens, and small businesses. Everyone is encouraged to attend and learn how area programs and opportunities for increased energy efficiencies. This event may be especially beneficial to individuals of low to moderate income. Information about grants, loans, rebates, and incentives will be shared. Also, those attending will have opportunities to explore heating and cooling system options, solar energy, home repairs, air sealing and much more.

CCE Sustainability Educator, Emily Edmunds, says, “I am excited to offer programs that assist with providing individuals and families with safe and healthy homes through affordable or free programs.”

The Energy Sustainability Program is one of many programs offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension’s in the Western New York Region. CCE-Chautauqua is a subordinate governmental agency with an educational mission that operates under a form of organization and administration approved by Cornell University as agent for the State of New York. It is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The association is part of the national cooperative extension system, an educational partnership between County, State, and Federal governments.
