JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (May 4th, 2022) – Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H Youth Development program has a new LEAF Jr. Activity! The LEAF, (Learn, Empower, Achieve, Farm), series was created by Katelyn Walley-Stoll, Farm Business Management Educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension. Katelyn’s classes focus on beginning farming and homesteading topics for adult learners. LEAF Junior will offer similarly styled classes that cater to all youth ages 5-18. Enrollment in 4-H is not necessary.
The event will take place Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, 6:00 PM at JCC Carnahan Center.
Youth will have the opportunity to participate in a sewing workshop! This fun workshop will teach youth to sew their own drawstring backpack. All supplies provided, unless participants prefer to bring their own fabric. (Measuring about ½ a yard). Basic sewing machine skills preferred, but beginners are welcome. This class is open to all youth (ages 9-18) with a $5.00 fee.
This is a great opportunity for a 4-Her to bring a non-4-H friend!
Register for the course by contacting the 4-H Office at 716-664-9502 ext. 214 or emailing lmc323@cornell.edu
