JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (September 12th, 2025) – Are you planting things in soil? (We're guessing the answer is probably yes). Then you need a soil sample! Soil samples are one of the most important tools farmers, homesteaders, and gardeners can use to make their growing adventures even more successful!
On Thursday, October 9th, from 6pm to 7pm, home gardeners are invited to join a free workshop to learn more about the importance of soil sampling, how to take a sample, and how to read soil sample reports. Leading the workshop will be Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County Agriculture Staff who will share information about soil sampling and provide hands-on learning opportunities for participants.
This workshop will be held at CCE-Chautauqua @ JCC Carnahan Center, 241 James Avenue, Jamestown, NY 14701. RSVPs are requested but not required. To RSVP, or to learn more or request accommodations, please call 716-664-9502 ext. 203 or email chautauquaag@cornell.edu.
Gardening workshops are one of many programs offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension.
