2020 Western Southern Tier Produce Meeting

Hands-On Learning and Regional Opportunities for Growers in Western NY and PA

JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (January 16, 2020) – Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Cornell Vegetable Program is offering a full-day event with sessions on pest and disease management in vegetables and fruit as well as agricultural marketing. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 28th from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM at Jamestown Community College in the Carnahan Center, 241 James Street, in Jamestown.

NY and PA growers holding pesticide applicator licenses in vegetable, fruit, field crops, and demonstration categories will be eligible for recertification credits. Credits are also available for greenhouse and plant agriculture categories in NY and the private applicator category in PA. This meeting will be highly relevant to organic as well as conventional production. Topics include cultural and biorational controls, pathogen biology and identification, and opportunities to market produce locally. The event will feature a panel of experienced growers, speakers specializing in vegetable production and pest management, and a hands-on phytophthora blight workshop.

The cost to register is $20 per person if preregistered by January 21st, and $25 after January 21st (walk-in registration accepted).
