Celebrate National 4-H Week October 1-7, 2017

JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (September 28, 2017) -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H Program begins their new year on October 1st. Communities nationwide celebrate National 4-H Week the first week of October. This year, National 4-H Week takes place October 1st-7th.

4-H kicks off the new year by holding a window display contest. This year, clubs have partnered with local businesses in their communities to spread the word about 4-H youth development. Stop by Covenant Manor, the Dinner Bell restaurant, Fredonia Hardware, Forestville Veterinary Hospital, Haff Acres Farm, Sinclairville Library, and Shear Style to learn why there’s no place like 4-H.

Chautauqua County 4-H also holds their annual Fall Fundraiser during National 4-H Week. Youth are selling Cooke Tavern Soups. These soups have no MSG, fillers, preservatives, or salt. There are a variety of soups to choose from and many are gluten free. Please stop by the 4-H Office or order your product from a local 4-Her. Thirty percent of the proceeds of the Fall Fundraiser go to participating clubs with the remainder of funds raised going toward general 4-H programming.
