JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (October 15, 2020) -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H Youth Development Program recently held a non-perishable food drive in conjunction with their 1st Annual Chicken BBQ Fundraiser on October 9-10, 2020.
The Chicken BBQ events, held in Dunkirk and Lakewood, were a success. Over 1,300 chicken dinners were sold to support 4-H programming in the coming year. Patrons were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to support the Jamestown Community College Student Food Pantry. The Food Pantry serves students living in Hillside Suites at the JCC Jamestown location.
The call for donations was answered in a big way! A wide variety of non-perishable foods were donated to students. Tyler Silagyi, Director of Residence Life at JCC and Xavier Churnac, Residence Director of Hillside Suites West, accepted the donations.
Thank you to the community for supporting 4-H and the SUNY JCC Student Food Pantry!
