Evening in the Garden June 19th

(Jamestown, NY) June 6, 2019 - Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County Master Garden-ers Program announce the June Evening in the Garden to be held June 19th at 6:00pm in the demon-stration gardens at the Frank Bratt Ag Center in Jamestown, NY. If you have an interest in vegeta-ble gardening you will enjoy presentations on companion gardening, weed control and cover crops for your vegetable garden. This has been such a wet, cold and unusual spring you will want to talk to Master Gardeners about problems or situations you have in your garden this spring. Soil pH testing will be available if you bring a small dry sample of your soil. Many Master Gardeners are also knowledgea-ble about flower gardening and will be able to talk to you about your perennial and annual flowers. If you are interested in growing plants to attract butterflies or bees, we can also discuss this.

In case of rain, the presentations will be held indoors, so please attend whatever the weather.

The Master Gardener Program is one of many programs offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County (CCE-Chautauqua). CCE-Chautauqua is a subordinate governmental agency with an educational mission that operates under a form of organization and administration approved by Cornell University as agent for the State of New York. It is tax-exempt under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The association is part of the national cooperative extension system, an edu-cational partnership between County, State, and Federal governments. As New York’s land grant uni-versity Cornell administers the system in this state. Each Cornell Cooperative Extension association is an independent employer that is governed by an elected Board of Directors with general oversight from Cornell. All associations work to meet the needs of the counties in which they are located as well as state and national goals. For more information, call 716-664-9502 or visit our website at:
