4-H clubs provide the opportunity for kids to be leaders, learn new skills, public speaking, and the value of community service. Clubs across the county complete a variety of projects that are evaluated and put on display at the Chautauqua County Fair in July.

Available Animal Science Projects

4-H Clubs

A 4-H club must have 5 or more members and an adult leader over the age of 21. Clubs may meet at any convenient location such as leader's or members' homes, schools, churches, or community rooms. 4-H clubs generally hold business meetings, work on projects, enjoy social activities and share in community service. In addition to club activities, club members may also participate in countywide activities and events such as Animal Projects, Public Presentations, Fashion Revue, Awards Night, County Fair, the Teen Ambassador Program, various contests, etc.

4-H Club Projects

4-H Club members have the opportunity to participate in various 4-H projects. These are a planned series of leaning experiences offered to club participants through which youth develop knowledge, skills and/or attitudes. 4-H projects teach the "whys" and "hows" of each project selected.
